Both vodafone and airtel just don't try to study the minds of indians so i think a bad start for iphone in country. So they planning other ways..

Vodafone is offering iPhone 3G on EMIs at more than 250 stores spread across 50 cities. Vodafone has tied up with Axis Bank and Barclays Bank for six or 12 equated monthly installments (EMI) for those willing to buy iPhone 3G on installments. ICICI Bank is also in talks with Vodafone for the same offer.
In another development, Airtel has announced free Internet data plan in which you will get 500MB data download/per month for first 12 months then will charge 30ps per 50KB. Further, Airtel’s offer states that if the iPhone 3G is unlocked before 12 months offer period, then owner will be void of all warranties and benefits.
